Sir,
I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of your Despatch No. 124 of the 6th ultimo on the subject of Dr. Lowson's pension and to inform you that I have instructed the Crown Agents to pay him at the reduced rate of $1,634 per annum, being calculated at 19/60 of $5,160.
2. As Dr. Lowson has already been paid his pension at the higher rate, I have the honour to request you to instruct him to refund to the Crown Agents, at the rate of the day, the sum of $255.14 being the amount over-paid to him from 26th December, 1901, to 11th April, 1902, together with any amount he may have received in excess from the Crown Agents for the period after the 11th April last.
